The past couple weeks has been right on the cusp of full transition to our summer time pattern. Very warm days, great fishing, and expectations of new arrivals are growing by the day in the New Smyrna Beach area.
We have landed some great redfish recently with our normal 40-45” fish and a few giants up to 50” mixed in. The summer time pattern is in place and the bite will continue to get better for these trophy sized fish. We have also landed some nice snook recently as well and it looks like we will have another good snook year with the warmer weather. The excitement is building for the arrival of our migratory tarpon off New Smyrna Beach. They should be here any time now and it wouldn’t surprise me if it was literally tomorrow. These giant fish are some of the most incredible gamefish our area has to offer. Along with them come the giant 20-30lb jack crevalle. These are pound for pound some of the most powerful and aggressive fish on the planet, nothing like watching them destroy top water plugs! We are still doing some sight fishing with fly and spin tackle in Mosquito Lagoon with decent water clarity in some areas. Summer is here and it’s time to fish! Capt.
